The Information Technology (IT) Program Manager ensures that all programs within their assigned responsible area(s) deliver on desirable outcomes to our organization. This role provides strategic guidance to Leadership, Project Teams and Project Managers in ways that promote the company’s culture. The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader and will have experience in managing staff of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner. They will also be able to develop efficient strategies and tactics while overseeing the progress of program projects. This position assists the IT PMO Director in establishing direction for the Project Management Office (PMO) by creating and maintaining practice guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures. The Program Manager is responsible for mentoring new Project Managers within the PMO team.
HOURS: Full Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every 2 weeks
Experience/Qualifications
Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in CIS/CS, Healthcare Informatics, Health Information Management preferred; or relevant field.Knowledge and ability to effectively utilize project portfolio management tools and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project).Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) required.
10+ years of relevant IS project/program management experience preferred.
Demonstrated leadership skills and sensitivity to organizational politics.Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
Specialized knowledge of the best practices for project/program management and familiarity with related technologies.
Must have the ability to communicate complex technical information in an easy-to-understand way.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group and C-suite level situations.
Ability to respond to questions from managers, customers, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts and graphs.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
