Summary and Qualifications:
The Community Programs Manager manages select grant programs and initiatives while supporting community and donor engagement activities for the Banfield Foundation, BluePearl Cares and VCA Charities.
This role is also responsible for effectively and efficiently maintaining critical CRM and data management functions as it relates to grant impact reporting, storytelling and community engagement.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:
Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.Manage key elements of current and future grant programs, including the grant funding process, review of applications, budget management and tracking, and handling day-to-day engagement with recipient and potential partners for grant programs and initiatives launched by the Banfield Foundation, BluePearl Cares and VCA Charities.Project manage and support strategic initiatives and community facing programs, including in-kind donations such as product donations from vendors, tracking the impact of programs on pets and communities, supporting and managing components of travel grant programs, partners and volunteers alongside Field Clinic Manager. Provide clear, concise and insightful written analyses and recommendations for grant and/or program funding including proposal summaries and progress reports for existing grants for review by the Executive Director.Assist with all aspects of grant program impact and storytelling through interaction with grant recipients, MVH Associates, and charitable donors.Manage the CRM grant database and select IT systems and their functions, as it relates to grant management, budgeting, data collection and reporting.Contribute to the development of future service programs and reputation through innovative approaches and partnerships with Banfield, Mars and external partners such as universities and industry partners as well as help lead the development and management of new partnerships and pilot programs with shelter partners nationally.Support charitable initiatives and represent the organization at external and internal engagement events, volunteer events and other community programs.Provide backup support to the Field Clinic Manager and Community Programs Specialist on grants and/or other programs.Other job duties as assigned.Special Working Conditions:
Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time. Project timelines and work volume/deadlines may often require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job.Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form and to solve problems involving several variables.Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.Environment where pets are present.Experience, Education and/or Training:
Type of Degree: CVT, RVT, LVT and/or Bachelor’sField of Study: Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, Animal Welfare or Veterinary Studies.Relevant professional experience in communications, nonprofit management, animal welfare or direct veterinary care (five years preferred)Required Require self-motivation and discipline, organization, and strong written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detailPreferred Nonprofit management, animal welfare, veterinary services or volunteer management experience.Preferred Current knowledge and experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems.What We Offer – The Good Stuff:
