Program Manager-hospital Operations
Job Title: Program Manager

Job Description

The Program Manager will lead program improvement efforts, manage and document progress, define project scope, and implement quality control measures. This role involves coordinating training, reviewing and coaching participant performance, tracking equipment advances, conducting rounds, developing publicity materials, collaborating with stakeholders, reporting to leadership, maintaining data, and managing interdisciplinary communication efforts. The Program Manager will align program design with organizational initiatives, develop leadership needs, and guide staff through continuous improvement cycles.

ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership for assigned functional and cross-functional program improvement initiatives.Collaborate with management and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives.Ensure compliance with department, hospital, and organizational policies, as well as government regulations.Participate in staff training and competency assessments for program equipment, supplies, and techniques.Develop unit programs, roles, responsibilities, and algorithms.Review participant performance reports and provide additional coaching or training as needed.Recommend additional or replacement equipment and coordinate equipment trials.Consult, coach, and promote program goals and a safe environment in patient care areas.Coordinate training and implementation of program strategies.Develop and distribute publicity materials with program champions, vendors, and hospital departments.Ensure consistent application of program practices across all groups by working with organizational stakeholders.Serve on program committees, report results to Senior Leadership, and attend unit-based meetings to address program issues.Maintain data related to program implementation and injuries, including injury expense reduction.Maintain a quarterly dashboard of outcome/process metrics.Manage interdisciplinary communication efforts regarding the program, including paper forms and patient handouts.Align program design and structure with organizational key initiatives and projects.Provide strategic input for the Director regarding business objectives.Partner with Operations Managers to identify and develop leadership needs and internal capacity.Facilitate strategic changes in project scope or assignment.Guide department staff through change processes and continuous improvement cycles.Work with various departments and physician groups to develop relationships and understand departmental workflows.Prepare and maintain accurate, coherent, timely, and auditable project records and cost estimates within department guidelines.For Facilities Services & Planning employees, this position may require on-call availability during non-standard hours to meet business needs and respond to emergencies.Essential SkillsProgram managementProject managementProficiency in PowerPoint and ExcelKnowledge of hospital operationsPower BI expertiseStakeholder managementProgram governanceLeadership decision makingExecutive level project managementPMP certification preferredConflict managementScope negotiationBudgetingFeature trade-offsAdditional Skills & QualificationsCareer progression from Project Manager to Program Manager focusing on process improvement, change management, and strategic initiativesExperience in clinical or operational settings with a focus on upgrading departmentsStrong skills in Excel and PowerPoint with experience in running meetingsFull ownership of process improvement implementationKnowledge of Tableau is a plusDemonstrated ability to act as a thought leader and operational expertEffective communication skills at all organizational levelsExperience in developing effective written communications, reports, and summariesAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse groupsStrong planning, organizing, motivating, mentoring, and evaluating skillsAbility to influence and resolve conflictsKnowledge of Lean, JIT, Six Sigma, and/or Agile/Scrum techniquesProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project, and OutlookKnowledge of business and management strategic planning, leadership development, and education techniques
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $64.58 - $81.00
