Position Description
The Program Manager is responsible for oversight of peer provided programs/services and direct supervision of assigned peer providers. Peer providers deliver peer support at Cascadia sites, in the community, and in individual homes. This manager assures collaboration of peer providers within and across teams. It is essential that the Peer Program Manager openly identifies as a person who has lived the experience of receiving behavioral health services and reflects positive peer values that include non-hierarchy, mutuality, and unconditional positive regard.
The Program Manager must understand, appreciate, and respect the diversity and cultural differences within our Cascadia community. As such, it is expected that this position promotes integrated care, our vision of trauma-informed and person-first approaches and helps create a work environment of inclusion, safety, and acceptance.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and oversight of peer support programs and services including integration of best practices into daily operations, and evaluation of the program’s services.Oversee the service needs of all clients and provide input into service/support plan goals and objectives.Manage program goals in collaboration with the Senior Director of Peer Provided services and other leaders.Train and oversee staff to ensure services prioritize community building and the development of natural supports, self-sufficiency, and personal wellness; and that service recipients are aided in securing benefits, mental health services, addiction treatment, medical services, emergency services, and housing.Support and assist staff members by helping to resolve client and program situations, as needed, thereby managing client risk and care.Monitor the day-to-day operations of the team(s) including leading weekly team meetings and providing individual supervision.Conduct regular quality management checks and prepare various reports for Cascadia leadership or other stakeholders as required/requested.Assist in crisis situations as appropriate, following emergency protocols/procedures and coordinating with the treatment team with interventions which support a trauma informed environment for clients and staff.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Compliance:

In collaboration with program leadership, determine staffing requirements, recruit, hire, and train staff in a manner that encourages and maintains diversity and cultural responsiveness.Ensure completion of personal and team documentation as required by assigned programs.Establish work plans and priorities for staff members, assess the progress of staff members.Provide consistent supervision and support for direct reports.Promote and ensure completion of annual training requirements.Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.Provide direct supervision to Peer Providers.Leadership:
Take the initiative in thought leadership, innovation, and creativity.Create, model, and maintain a work culture that supports and values inclusion, equity, and diversity.Attend and participate in all meetings as assigned, including but not limited to staff and team meetings, consultations with staff, individual and group supervision.Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers to promote quality and efficiency in Cascadia operations.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Education:
Traditional Health Worker Peer Support Specialist Required.Traditional Health Worker Peer Wellness Specialist PreferredExperience:
Experience as a former or current recipient of behavioral health services.Must self-disclose as a current or former recipient of behavioral health services and must have personal experience with recovery.Two years of experience providing peer support with adults experiencing serious behavioral health challenges and/or people experiencing homelessness.A minimum of one year of supervisory experience is required with more preferred.Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Operate computer hardware and software (including Electronic Health Record software) at a level needed to effectively perform job functions.Enter and retrieve data.Prepare simple reports and progress notes.Other:
Possess a valid driver’s license, three-year driving history, clean driving record, ability to pass Driver Motor Vehicle (DMV) check and complete the Cascadia online Defensive Driving course.Must have the ability to commute to various Cascadia sites and community locations as needed.Core Competencies

Environmental: Work is both clinic and community based. This position may be located at the administration building but on-site visits to program/service locations is required.
Daily routines can be hectic and may require that Employee to perform various functions of the site as needed. Meal periods and breaks are subject to interruption. Universal Precautions and remaining alert to the environment are critical to address the potential for violent behavior, exposure to disease, biohazards, noise, and contaminants. This position includes travel to community meetings.
Mental: The work assigned is diverse and involves addressing new and unusual circumstances in which outcomes may negatively affect employee morale, client care or costs. The work regularly involves a degree of unpredictability and disruption of planned tasks requiring a flexible time management approach. There will be a need for a high degree of time management, crisis triage/response, and prioritizing skills, due to fluctuating programmatic and staffing routines.
Physical Demands: Must have the ability to assist the team in providing safety to all clients and staff in potentially volatile situations.
