Program Manager II, Tech- Custom Hardware Data Collection
### **About the Role** We are looking for a Program Manager to lead and execute data collection initiatives that involve custom hardware setups based on client requirements. This role sits at the intersection of hardware, data collection, and machine learning, ensuring we deliver high-quality datasets for training ML models, LLMs, and other AI applications. **What the Candidate Will Do:** - **Program Management:** Oversee end-to-end execution of data collection projects involving custom hardware setups such as cameras, sensors, LiDAR, and audio devices. - **Client Collaboration:** Work closely with clients to understand their specific data needs, hardware specifications, and quality expectations. - **Vendor & Partner Coordination:** Identify, onboard, and manage hardware vendors, field teams, and logistics partners for smooth project execution. - **Technical Execution:** Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure proper integration and calibration of hardware for accurate data collection. - **Process Optimization:** Develop and refine workflows for scalable, high-quality data collection, ensuring efficiency in both cost and execution time. - **Quality Assurance:** Implement data validation and quality control mechanisms to ensure collected datasets meet the required ML training standards. **Basic Qualifications:** - 5+ years of experience in program management, operations, or technical project management, ideally in data collection, hardware deployment, or AI/ML-related fields. - Experience managing projects with custom hardware (e.g., cameras, sensors, LiDAR, audio devices) is a strong plus. - Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align internal teams, external vendors, and clients. - Familiarity with ML/AI model training needs and the role of high-quality datasets in model performance. - Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Work on cutting-edge AI/ML data collection initiatives with a global impact. - Collaborate with leading tech companies and AI innovators. - Be part of a highly skilled, fast-growing team in a dynamic industry. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$125,000 per year - USD$139,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
