Job Description:
The LunaSCOPE Program Manager plays a critical role in coordinating and facilitating program activities within the LunaSCOPE Institute, a NASA SSERVI institute based at Brown University. This position is part of the Research Management Support (RMS) team in the Office of the Dean of the Faculty (DoF) and serves as the central point of contact for the LunaSCOPE team (Faculty at Brown University and partner institutions nationally and internationally) and is responsible for coordinating and managing the program's activities across multiple institutions. Responsibilities include: overall project management; project reporting; managing the budget; developing and maintaining the website, social media channels, and inter-institutional communications; planning and facilitating meetings; and ensuring effective communication among team members. The LunaSCOPE Program Manager contributes to the institute's mission of advancing lunar science, expanding our understanding of the Moon's composition and history, and supporting NASA's Artemis program.
Fixed-term position, renewal each year up to 3 years based on satisfactory work performance and dependent upon available funding.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree and familiarity with planetary science or a related scientific field preferred.Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.Strong organizational and project management skills.Proficiency in MS Office applications, Google Suite applications, Adobe or other graphic design software, web design.Experience communicating actionable information in an appropriate and timely manner.Previous experience working with internal and external, high-level stakeholdersProficiency in financial management, including budget planning, monitoring, and reporting.Knowledge and command of evolving social media platforms.Ability to prioritize complex and at times competing goals.Initiative and judgment to independently problem solve.Ability to work with little supervision and also serve as strong team member.Ability to research, analyze, and summarize findings.Ability to exercise restraint and discretion in matters that are confidential or otherwise sensitive.All offers of employment are contingent upon a criminal background check and education verification satisfactory to Brown University.
