We are hiring immediately a Program Manager- Major Projects anywhere in the US near a major airport – a role critical to customers’ electricity, heating, and cooling needs.

The Program Manger role is responsible for managing project management teams to ensure Major Projects are delivered Safely, within scope & budget, on time and meet Quality standards. The individual will plan, direct, coordinate, and budget activities concerned with the installation, operations, and demobilization of temporary utility projects.

What you’ll do:

Mentor and develop Project Managers and Onsite Delivery Leaders in the field assessing skills and behaviorsEnsure Project Managers complete and record documentation to maintain ISO 9001 certificationPromotes project management vision and methodology inside and outside the organizationLeads project leadership calls with internal and external key stakeholders · Provides updates to current project status including but not limited to, schedule, P&L, issues, risk, etcBuild a culture of project management excellence · Promote knowledge building and sharing among Project Management teamIdentify and define Project Management team KPIsPromote and participate in post project reviews both internal and external · Effective change management by continuously assessing the need for organizational change, championing change initiatives, and removing obstacles impeding constructive organizational changeLead and develop project engineering solutions from concept through design, engineering and BoM creationManage a wide range of complex projects within established processes and tools, following formal project management principles.Work with the Sales and Projects Delivery teams on Projects & Technically Complex Applications and provide support during the preliminary, installation and commissioning phases of the project life cycle.Define, develop and implement control systems that enhance the functional and operational efficiency of equipment and project sites.Track project against its schedule, budget and against phase review objectives, reporting status to management and customer on a regular basis, and executive staff as neededMentor mid-level and junior project managers. Expand team performance and deliverables reinforcing processes, tools, and templates.  Promote best practices and PM methodologiesConduct field assessments of team’s skills and behaviors, providing opportunities for learning and process improvementsAssist PMO in hiring and onboarding. Screen and interview PM team candidates. Engage in onboarding process and subsequent field observationsParticipate in PMO Portfolio internal/external post-project reviewsBe a safety champion: Lead by example and hold others responsible for working safely and providing a safe working environmentTravel 40-60 % of time to any area in North America in varying industries and environments

We’re experts, which means you’ll have the following skills and experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred in engineering, construction management10+ years of significant project experience managing field related projects in one or more sectors: Utility, Petrochem/Refining, Building Construction and ServicesMust have and maintain project management certification from PMI, APM or recognized equivalent, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire date.Knowledge in HVAC/R, electrical power generation/transmission/distribution is a plusExperience in managing EPC, EPCM or similar Integrated project teamsStrong focus on HSE and safety leadership. Be a safety champion and lead by example and hold others responsible for working safely and providing a safe working environmentStrong negotiation skills for effective management and resolution of conflicts with internal and external stakeholdersDemonstrate decisiveness in resolving business problems, making decisions, and identifying prioritiesStrong organizational and communication skills for effective leadership of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams and alignment of project objectives between various stakeholder groupsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulationsAbility to read and interpret one-line diagrams, P&IDs and process design packagesAvailability and willingness to work outside normal business hours, environments, climates, regions, etc.Intermediate computer software proficiency including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, and SharePointMust be able to read, write and speak English fluentlyAbility to proficiently communicate verbal and written up and down organizationAbility to demonstrate vision and motivate high performing teamsMust be well organized and have ability to meet deadlines and perform under pressure in a fast-paced work environmentAbility to move or lift objects, typically less than 50 lbs
