How will you make an impact in this role?
Global Infrastructure (GI) is a team of 4,500 colleagues and contractors globally, making it the largest organization within Technology. Its mission is to deliver a secure, stable, and scalable infrastructure that enables Technology to be predictable, transparent, efficient and offer the best-in-class experiences.
The Manager Assistant will report directly to GI’s Chief of Staff and help execute on all aspects and deliverables of GI’s Executive Office, which is headed by GI’s Executive Vice President (EVP).
In this role, the Manager Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the leadership team’s operating rhythm and delivery of goals. This is a great opportunity for a driven individual to apply program or operations management skills scaled in a fast-paced, exciting technology organization.
To drive success in a team with this breadth, it is imperative that the candidate for this position is innately communicative, responsive, transparent, organized, proactive, and accountable. The ideal incumbent will successfully navigate competing priorities, apply thought leadership, operate as a trusted advisor, and consistently embody American Express’s Blue Box Values in their execution.
Key Responsibilities include:
Partner across the organization to define, document and communicate strategic priorities that shape GI’s mission Track the organization’s performance against GI’s goals and objectives, and communicate progress to leadership on a regular basis Develop agendas and content for key meetings, events and the EVP’s site visits (e.g. Town Halls, workshops, employee engagement events, team build activities, dinners, networking sessions, etc.) Draft communications to be sent by members of the GI Executive Office Host regular meetings within GI; track minutes and actions items, and follow up with owners on respective action items Collaborate with enterprise partners and other centers of excellence on key initiatives Collect and consolidate deliverables throughout the organization Support annual processes by partnering across the organization to ensure GI’s completion of talent assessments, year-end performance reviews and business planning Follow up with GI leadership to mitigate latency in hiring cycle times and MyInfo changes Develop relationships amongst the organization that allows the incumbent to understand the pulse of the team, assess the health of colleague engagement and development within the team, and propose recommendations to address or optimize key themes/top priorities Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance the organization’s internal capacity Take on stretch assignments as capacity allows (e.g. senior leadership offsite visits, strategic pillar working groups, real estate forecasting)Required Skills & Experience:
Excellent organization and planning skills Ability to influence a community of senior leaders and colleagues, including peer groups, to reach common goals Excellent communication skills and the ability to tailor complex messages to various audiences from colleagues to executives with brevity, simplicity and impact Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines while maintaining strategic perspective of the bigger picture Solid business acumen and understanding of how large matrixed organizations operate Ability to balance attention to detail and accuracy while prioritizing continuous requests Versatile multitasker with creative problem-solving skills Strong sense of integrity with ability to handle highly sensitive issues and maintain complete confidentiality A demonstrated self-starter with working knowledge of project management and process improvement who can lead projects with autonomy Eager to lead, as well as follow, and receive feedback with an outlook toward team success and growth Ability to build strong relationships and trust through proactive collaboration, transparency, and delivering on commitments Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience Undergraduate degree requiredPreferred Skills & Experience:
Prior experience in Technology is preferredSalary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
