The Program Manager is a hybrid remote position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

Deliver a disciplined, process-oriented and strategic methodology for improving the overall performance of project management across all business lines. Provide overall direction and guidance to Project Managers and Project Analysts. Review and evaluate work of Project Managers and Project Analysts and contribute to their performance reporting. Function as liaison between all McLane functional business teams and the McLane Business Information System Teams. Prepare activity and progress reports regarding McLane Business Information Systems Team to Senior Leadership.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Construct plans consistent with the development/maintenance planning cycle which includes the responsibility for project plans, assistance in budget preparation and annual objectives.Conduct monthly scheduled meetings with Project Managers to ensure open and clear communication.Review summary project control information on a regular basis to verify that projects are on schedule and institute corrective action when required.Interface with management on a regular basis to establish project priorities and to resolve systems development issues.Provide guidance to Project Managers in all the Information Systems functions within MBIS.Work with Project Managers on critical crossover projects and overseeing many business systems.Assess the fit of moderate to significant business solutions and proactively identify gaps for subsequent evaluation in the solution development process.Participate in new product evaluations to define requirements and assess business fit.Ensure the completion of all project components to meet appropriate standards, ensure customer satisfaction, timely completion, and project profitability.Interface with other company business functions to support the information needs of a corporation.Maintain state of the art knowledge of the systems analysis, program analysis, and project management functions.Maintain a close working relationship with Project Managers and Business Analysts to assure that information needs are recognized, well developed and translated into meaningful and user-friendly information systems.Ensure the enforcement of Information Systems and company standards including project reporting, resource management tools and sound systems development practices and methodologies.Propose or refine project standards, policies, procedures and methodologies.Provide group-related input to the annual budgeting cycle with supporting detail and justification.Facilitate and direct offshore contractors.Ensure project managers and business analyst using the designated tool for reporting, visibility and project oversight.Provide a consolidated weekly status report on active projects to Senior Leadership.Participate in the monthly performance analysis and responsibility reporting activities as required.Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A teammate in this position must have:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, related experience.Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) Certification.Proven history of successful information technology project/program management with 7 years of related experience in application project management.2 or more years program management experience in a technical area is required.Experience in one or more relevant information technology areas is required.Knowledge of methods and techniques in fact-finding, analysis, and resolution of complex problems.Ability to develop action plans and project plans.Project management certification preferred.
