Program Manager of The Women's Project

JOB SUMMARY   

The Program Manager (PM) will be responsible for the successful execution of TWP, including all deliverables. The PM will provide structured supervision and support, ensuring that all case management/reentry care coordination services are high quality, trauma-informed, gender-responsive, and appropriately individualized. The Program Manager and staff LMSWs will oversee and continually improve TWP’s intake process, including assessment tools, interviews, and program orientation. The PM will provide oversight and guidance to staff in the creation of reentry service plans, participant-individualized goal plans, and aftercare success plans. The PM will develop and oversee a programming calendar of virtual wellness workshops offered 2-4 times per week, including creating culturally relevant and gender/trauma-informed curricula, leading groups/series, and cultivating external opportunities for programming. The PM will report to the Senior Director in overall program development and growth as a valued thought partner.

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Directly supervise 6 team members, including 2 social workers (LMSW), 2 reentry care coordinators, 1 part-time aftercare success coach, and collaborate with another Wildcat Director in the supervision of 1 full-time employment specialist. Supervision will include individual weekly check-ins to monitor caseload progress, approval of schedules, preparation of annual performance reviews, and the identification and proposal of appropriate training opportunities to the senior director.

Oversee and improve referral and intake process to maximize efficiency and scale, including administration of assessment tools, interviews, and timelines.

Devise and deliver a new aftercare success program, to support participants' focus on long-term stabilization during transition through the completion of the program.

Provide timely and critical feedback to staff on the development and modification of individualized service plans, goal plans, and aftercare success plans to ensure that planned interventions are robust, effective, clinically appropriate, and feasible.

Organize and lead regular team meetings and staff training culturally relevant as directed by the Sr. Director.

Plan, develop, and manage all participant wellness programming, including 2-4 workshops/events per week (virtual and in-person), ensuring that programming is culturally engaging, trauma-informed, and gender-responsive. Programming will be a combination of TWP-led (including a series on Seeking Safety and Anger Management, and the curriculum created and facilitated by the Clinical Manager) and community-led (developed with community partners and external consultants, including Nurturing Parenting). All programs will relate to the 5 social determinants of health.

Provide regular program updates and legal/advocacy issues to the Senior Director for feedback and intervention as directed.

Cultivate relationships with the reentry and social services community throughout New York City, including arranging introductions and site visits, facilitating virtual meet-and-greets for staff, and building internal directories for housing, behavioral health, benefits, education, and other resources.

Conduct regular reviews of the case management system to ensure quality and completion of important program records, including intake, case notes, service/goal plans, and external referrals.

Assist Senior Director with data collection, reporting to Fedcap and funders, program design/development, hiring, written procedures, and other operational functions as needed.

Direct LMSWs on MSW Intern Program integration.

QUALIFICATIONS    

Job qualifications are stated in the Essential Functions of the job description. An employee must be able to accomplish the Essential Functions to be competent in the job. Other special requirements are noted below.

Required Education and Job Experience

MSW or PhD in Social Work. SIFI certification (preferred). LCSW (License in Clinical Social Work) required; LCSW-R preferred. Seven (7) years of experience as a practicing licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), at least three (3) years of which involved supervising social workers and/or case managers in the social services field.  Experience delivering services to people impacted by the criminal legal system, particularly women. Experience working with and knowledge of reentry, social service, and behavioral health service providers in the five boroughs of New York City. Experience planning and leading participant/client groups. Experience developing programs (preferred). 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Proficient with entire Microsoft Office Suite,  Willingness to be trained to use other related software. Willingness to be trained and become an expert user in electronic case management systems and risk assessment scoring software.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Normal schedule is Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm; At times, must be willing to work in excess of 40 hours per week as driven by operational needs.

Travel

Regular travel within the five boroughs to courts and partner provider sites.
