Program Manager (People Leader role)

The Program Manager / leader of project management team for Asia region leads regional project managers and coordinators and executes a series of global projects as a group within a regional program to satisfy clients, create efficiencies and achieve one set of program goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
+ Manage the implementation of projects from Asia related accounts (customers from Asia and or customers targeting Asia markets)
+ Provide overall leadership and support to one or more project teams
+ Act as front-line contact on program related activities, issues, and risks. Manage risks and issues and takes corrective measurements
+ Interface with customers in project execution
+ In coordination with the PMO leadership define and maintain the program governance (controls)
+ Plan the overall program and monitor the progress; performs daily program management throughout the program life cycle
+ Manage the program’s budget and financial performance if applicable
+ Coordinate the projects and their interdependencies
+ Manage and utilize resources across projects
+ May manage the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives and goals, providing feedback and guidance and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to
+ Collaborate with sales team, consulting team, and other functions to satisfy customer needs and identify additional sales opportunities
+ Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, job specific procedures, and follow all physical and digital security practices.
+ Perform other duties as directed.
Experience, Knowledge, and Education Requirements
+ Over seven years of project management experience with multiple parallel threads of work
+ Experience with cross geographical project coordination and management
+ Experience managing a teams of project managers or coordinators
+ Experience in Organizational Change Management
+ Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred. Examples include: MBA, MA in Project Management, or master’s degree in business or technology, or equivalent work experience
+ PMP and/or Agile certifications preferred or equivalent related hands on delivery experience in lieu of certifications
+ English required. Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese language skill preferred
+ Medical device industry background is preferred.
Location
+ Asia region, preferably with one of UL’s offices. But OK with Remote.
