Program Manager Safety and Reliability - Quality - System Wide

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

Accountable for market and system-level implementation of quality, safety, reliability and continuous improvement (CI) program services. Develops resources and processes to support enterprise success in meeting annual BSMH goals related to quality, safety, harm reduction, and improvement capabilities. Works collaboratively with market-level providers, nursing, quality, risk, and other senior clinical leaders to ensure awareness of and access to all pertinent BSMH resources to achieve overall quality and safety goals. Works under the direction of the Director of Reliability to promote excellence and strengthen a culture of safety and reliability.

Essential Job Functions

Works collaboratively to implement programs and services that expand share service resources to drive value throughout the organization.

Develops, publishes, and promotes access to resources designed to elevate organizational safety culture.

Works collaboratively with thought leaders and subject matter experts to identify emerging trends for quality, safety, reliability, and CI.

Uses data to identify and analyze opportunities for innovation, improvement, scale and spread of programmatic services aligned to the general Quality, Safety, and Reliability shared services strategy.

Works collaboratively across verticals to advance utilization of just culture, safety and error prevention strategies for spreading and sustaining a culture of safety and reliability.

Proactively scans the environment for and acts upon opportunities to advance the integration of cross-continuum practices .

Active contributor towards Ministry, group, and facility level quality, safety and reliability programs, identifying and acting upon opportunities to standardize workflows and improve accuracy and efficiency.

Develops and publishes learning content focused on patient safety and reliability theory; Collaborates with human resources’ culture and learning functions to optimize content and ensure broad access.

Collaborates to ensure systems learnings are implemented and pertinent information and “lessons learned” are transferred across the organization.

Licensing/Certification

Performance improvement certification (Lean, etc.) within one year of hire preferred.Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality or Certified Professional in Patient Safety preferred.Licensed Registered Nurse preferred.

Education

4 year/ Bachelors Degree required in Healthcare-related discipline (i.e., nursing, health administration) or related disciplineMasters degree preferred in Clinically-related discipline (i.e., nursing, pharmacy) or Health Care Administration

Work Experience

5+ years healthcare experience including at least one year of related experience in quality, safety and/or continuous improvement required.

Working Conditions

Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.

Long-distance or air travel as needed- not to exceed 10% travel.

May have periods of constant interruptions.

Required to car travel to off-site locations, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.

Prolonged periods of working alone.

Skills:

Ability to interpret and implement processes aligned with the Patient Safety and Quality Improvement

Skilled in synchronous and asynchronous learning and collaboration technology platforms (i.e., Zoom, Workday, etc.).

Proficiency with MS Office suite [Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe Acrobat software]
