**39856BR** **Extended Job Title:** Program Manager - Student Activities **Position Description:** Designs, implements and manages student-centered programs, events, and activities that enhances student community and development. Typical duties can include but are not limited to: supervise and support student leaders working at designated programs, communicate with campus and community partners, establish program standards and objectives, develop and implement project timelines and maintain adherence to established deadlines, coordinate logistics of an activity to promote the success of programs, identify funding opportunities, prepare program reports, manage program databases and files, assess program outcomes and analyze student feedback to make recommendations for continuous improvement, ensure goals and objectives of grants are met, participate in strategic planning for future departmental success. **Requisition ID:** 39856BR **Travel Required:** Up to 25% **Major/Essential Functions:** + The Program Manager is responsible for working in the area of Student Activities. They work to support university programming and the student programming board, which in turn promotes student development. + Oversee assigned areas of programming connected to the Student Activities Board (SAB). The areas may be related to any of the following: Daytime, Late Night Films, Spirit & Traditions (including Homecoming), Night Life, Outreach, Vice-President for Communications & Marketing. + Responsible for the development of high quality programs and services: ensuring that there is a strongcommitment to student development, emphasis on engagement of all Texas Tech students & the involvement of the campus & the greater Lubbock community. + Seek out collaborative programmatic efforts throughout the Texas Tech and Lubbock Community. + Establish and maintain working relationships with university faculty, staff, students, and alumni as it relates to programming and potential growth for the department. + Seek out professional opportunities and partnerships for the Activities area by becoming involved in and knowledgeable about the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA). + Serve as an advisor to the Student Activities Board (SAB) and its volunteers/committees ensuring compliance with procedures and policies. + Serves as a liaison for departmental fair representation at university functions such as Red Raider Orientation, Raider Roadshows, and Admissions Preview Days. **Grant Funded?:** No **Minimum Hire Rate:** 4,000.00 **Pay Basis:** Monthly **Schedule Details:** Evening & weekend hours as needed **Work Location:** Lubbock **Preferred Qualifications:** + The Program Manager must understand the area of Student Activities and the value that it brings to a campus and how to apply student development to a diverse group of students on a daily basis. They must also be able to communicate effectively and be forward thinking and offer new ideas, problem solve, and offer resolutions. + Experience in student staff training, conflict resolution, leadership training and staff development are preferred. Energy and ideas for fostering social, diverse, traditional, and educational programs semester to semester is essential. + Master's in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field preferred but not required. Relates well to students and a team. A commitment to the educational goals of program activities. Knowledge of the college union philosophy. An understanding of and the ability to apply student development and learning outcomes theories. Demonstrated ability in advising or training student groups.
