Program/Project Assistant Intern

Job Description

What You’ll Do 

For this role we are specifically looking for a rising Junior or Senior that’s curious and eager to join the Special Government Programs team this summer! The Project/Program Assistant intern will work closely on the Implementation of the Children and Families Special Programs (CFSP) and Child & Welfare program development.  

Assist in Program Development: Support the creation and enhancement of the programs for children and welfare services 

Event Planning: Assist with planning and organizing community events for Special Government Programs 

Presentations: Creating presentations for stakeholders and sometimes presenting.  

Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Special Government Programs, Community Engagement, and the Healthy Blue team, to coordinate efforts and share insights. 

Project Planning - Assist team in developing project plans and timelines. 

 
 What You Bring 

Currently enrolled as a rising Junior or Senior at North Carolina accredited university or college

You’re energized by our mission to improve the health and well-being of our communities. 

Ability to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks from May 19– July 25, 2025 

Located in North Carolina during the internship program. 

Interest in Healthcare and Government Insurance Programs from a Healthcare perspective.

You bring positive energy, enjoy collaborating with others, and sharing your own creative ideas.   

Experience working with diverse populations. 

Interest in Healthcare, Business, or Marketing

Background in or understanding of special government programs like welfare and foster care 

 

Compensation 

Undergraduates: Rising Sophomore:  $18/hr 

Undergraduates: Rising Junior/Senior: $21/hr 

Returning Interns:  $23/hr  

Masters Students/JD:  $27/hr  

MBA Students/PharmD: $36/hr

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets,  licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs. Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs.
