The Program Specialist, Wellness and Caregiver Services is responsible for identifying, implementing, promoting, and leading evidence-based and caregiver programs throughout the region. The Program Specialist will engage with community partners to host and promote workshops. The Program Specialist work to identify unmet needs and implement programs that address those needs for both older adults and caregivers. Program Specialist will work collaboratively with the Manager of Health Promotion to support and enhance programs offered by AgeWays.
DUTIES:
+ Develop and strengthen relationships with new and existing partners for the purpose of building, strengthening, and marketing evidence-based wellness and caregiver programs.
+ Develop, implement, manage outreach, and market programs to older adults and caregivers.
+ Work collaboratively with the Director of Health Promotion to assist with the recruitment of program trainers and establish new partnerships in the community. Identify unmet needs/programs in the community and work fill gaps in services.
+ Work in collaboration with the Communications Department to promote workshops and create marketing materials as needed. Participate in outreach events as applicable to promote caregiver/wellness programs.
+ Participate in statewide and regional coalitions to expand knowledge of programs and partners throughout the state/region. Become a Master Trainer/Leader and facilitate workshops in the community as needed.
+ Assist in the preparation of program budget and monitoring program expenses.
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Gerontology, Training/Education, Marketing
+ 1-2 years min, 3-5 years preferred experience working in community-based organizations, health care, prevention programs, evidence-based programs and/or caregiver programs is preferred.
+ Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and organizational skills.

+ Effective time management skills, including the ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
+ Strong analytical, critical thinking, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to foster and maintain open, collaborative, and constructive relationships with co-workers and AAA 1-B leadership to achieve departmental and operational results.
+ Knowledge of community based, evidence-based and caregiver services preferred.
+ Experience working with older adults and adults with disabilities is preferred.
+ Public speaking is required with the ability to present ideas in a clear, concise manner, work with community partners, and conduct trainings for older adult learners, staff, and the aging network providers.
+ Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
