As a Program Supplier Quality Engineer here at Raytheon, you will be the primary interface between our supplier base and internal stakeholders of critical and technically advanced DOD Programs.  

What You Will Do:

Ensure flow down of product requirements both internally and to sub-tier suppliers through PO requirements, Quality Notes, and statement of works.Interpreting these requirements to ensure supply base both understands and complies with these quality requirements.Drive continuous product / process improvements of our supply base by identifying supplier risk & systemic performance issues and driving solutions through various tools/methodologies including: Root Cause Corrective Actions, Statistical/analytical improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies.Application of APQP processes related to supplier performance and implementation of necessary engagements to improve supplier manufacturing processes.Can anticipate some travel (Up to 25%) to support supplier assessments, audits, reviews.Represent quality during review boards covering changes to: supplier designs, process changes, qualification tests, and procedure reviews.

What You Will Learn:

Managing complex supplier base in variety of fields (Electrical, Mechanical, energetic, etc)Expand APQP knowledge and experienceEngagement with critical external stakeholders i.e. DCMA.

Location Information:

The position primarily interfaces with the program team in the Tucson, AZ area in a hybrid work schedule. Some travel can be expected as part of this role (Up to 25%).

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and 8 years’ experience in quality engineering, manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.Experience working with one or more of the following aerospace or commercial equivalent preventative tools - SPC, FMEA, QFD, PPAP,Previous experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.Experience with one or more of the following standards: ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9145, or MDA Assurance Provisions.Previous experience interpretating schematic drawings and hardware inspection techniques.The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Six Sigma, Lean, and/or American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE, etc.)Proven successes in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers/ customers.Experience in DoD product and process oversight including requirements, build, integration, test, and delivery.Experience in engineering, development, project planning, and collaborating remotely.Working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality management systems, AS9145 Requirements for APQP & PPAP, and FAI Standard AS9102.General knowledge of industry technical standards (such as ANSI, CMMI, ASTM, etc.)Strong technical engineer with excellent communication skills that exhibits presence and influence and self-managed technical contributor.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
