Kadiak LLC, a subsidiary of Koniag Government Services, is seeking a skilled Program Systems Analyst to support the efficient operation and maintenance of critical databases and systems. This role is responsible for performing database requests, troubleshooting and resolving system malfunctions, and providing technical assistance to Quality Assurance Specialists (QAS) and other stakeholders.
**Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:**
**The Program Systems Analyst will be responsible for:**
+ Respond to database requests from authorized personnel, such as the FDA or QAS staff, and execute the necessary queries, reports, or data extractions in a timely and accurate manner.
+ Monitor the performance and functionality of databases and related systems, identifying and resolving any issues, malfunctions, or crashes to ensure uninterrupted operations.
+ Provide technical support and guidance to QAS staff during their period of performance, assisting them with database-related tasks, queries, and troubleshooting.
+ Maintain and update databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with established protocols and best practices.
+ Collaborate with IT teams, database administrators, and other stakeholders to implement system enhancements, upgrades, or migrations as required.
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including user manuals, technical specifications, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to database operations and maintenance.
+ Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate users on database functionalities, query languages, and best practices for data management and retrieval.
+ Stay up to date with the latest technologies, tools, and industry standards related to database management, data security, and system administration.
+ Analyze system performance metrics and user feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement optimization strategies.
**Requirements:**
**Education:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
+ Ability to obtain a Public Trust
**Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**
+ Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in database management, system administration, or a related role in an IT environment.
+ Proven expertise in working with relational database management systems (RDBMS), such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
+ Familiarity with data querying languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL) and reporting tools.
+ In-depth knowledge of database management principles, including data modeling, normalization, and query optimization.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues and database errors.
+ Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools for system administration tasks.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document procedures and provide technical guidance to users.
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
**Desired Skills and Competencies:**
+ Experience in a government or regulated environment, with knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to data management and security.
+ Familiarity with database performance tuning techniques and tools.
+ Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery strategies for critical databases and systems.
+ Understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts.
+ Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#) for scripting and database operations automation.
+ Expertise in database security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and auditing.

**Working Environment & Conditions**

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
