Summary

The Program Team Leader - Oncology will drive program strategy and maintain accountability of program execution that drives successful and innovative development of Oncology programs from IND to early development and into late development, in a manner consistent with Moffitt’s core values. This position will work in close coordination with principal investigators and other leaders to drive program strategy and
delivery according to established timelines. The Program Team Leader - Oncology, will lead a cross-departmental, highly matrixed, fit-for-purpose team consisting of people drawn from Moffitt’s faculty and staff bringing expertise in translational medicine, clinical development, clinical operations, regulatory affairs, clinical pharmacology, clinical biomarkers, manufacturing, non-clinical sciences, and others to deliver against an ambitious program strategy.

 

Minimum Experience Required
Masters degree with 8+ years' experience or MD or PhD with 5+ years' experience, which must include
the following:
• Program strategy and execution for therapeutic, device, or diagnostic
• Oncology program drug development including the transition of novel candidates from discovery through early development.
• Cross functional program leadership or management supporting early- and late-stage programs through regulatory milestones (IND/BLA) to include timeline management and budgetary responsibility

Minimum Skills/Specialized Training Required
• Strong ability to lead cross-departmental teams; engage senior leadership, health authorities, and KOLs
• Ability to build strong relationships and be able to exert influence without authority across many diverse departments.
• Must be adept at working in a dynamic and fluid environment and foster a strong collaborative
 spirit internally and externally.
• Strong written and oral communication skills as well as demonstrated organizational aptitude
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic, cross-departmental matrixed environment.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience
• Experience with filing and approval of novel candidate's stage transition


Development and Budget
• Accountable for the integrated development plan for the Oncology programs
• Align on a program direction in coordination with senior leaders and program representatives
• Represent the program status, development scenarios, and trade-offs with senior leadership, internal stakeholders, and external stakeholders
• Develop a realistic program budget in coordination with the program manager, finance and departmental representatives; identify trade-offs
 

Cross Functional Program Leadership
• Engage internal and external stakeholders including KOLs and key PIs; engage advisory boards to inform an effective programstrategy
• Lead the program team to make data informed decisions and recommendations (dose selection, go/no go decisions etc)
• Provides strong scientific and project leadership, balancing pragmatism and innovation

Regulatory

• Support development of regulatory strategy, documents and Health Authority (HA) interactions
Productivity

• Improve productivity within each phase of development
• Lead the program team to solve and overcome unforeseen obstacles with innovation and agility
