Role Introduction

Reports to: Head of IT Solutions – Operations and Service

Join Cathay as our Programme Manager to lead the replacement of our airline's core engineering system and the implementation of a new, modernized Maintenance & Engineering (M&E) system using a SaaS solution. You need to have a proven track record in large-scale IT transformation programs within highly regulated environments, strong stakeholder management, and a commitment to delivering exceptional value while adhering to strict timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities
Program Vision & Strategy: Translate the program vision into actionable goals and results, securing stakeholder buy-in and alignmentProgram Planning & Execution: Develop and manage a comprehensive program plan, encompassing timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigationScope Management: Define and manage the program scope, ensuring alignment with business objectives and proactively managing changesResource Management: Effectively manage program resources, including budget, personnel (internal and external), and tools, optimizing allocation across project phasesStakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the program lifecycleRisk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, mitigate, and manage program risks and issues, developing and implementing contingency plansVendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to contractual obligationsTechnology Adoption: Drive the adoption of new technologies and industry standards, ensuring alignment with the latest technology stack and best practices.Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of project managers, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment, and promoting knowledge sharingCompliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to project management best practices, relevant standards, and regulatory requirementsRequirements
Proven Program Management Expertise: Minimum 10+ years leading large-scale, complex IT transformation programs, preferably in aviation or a highly regulated industryStrategic Vision & Planning: Ability to translate business needs into comprehensive program plans, aligning stakeholders and managing resources effectivelyRisk & Issue Management: Demonstrated ability to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate program risks, developing and implementing effective contingency plansExceptional Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to build consensus, manage expectations, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholder groups at all levels. Team Leadership & Mentorship: Strong leadership skills to build, motivate, and mentor high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative environmentStrong Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Ability to analyze complex problems, make sound decisions under pressure, and resolve conflicts effectivelyTechnical Acumen: Solid understanding of IT systems, SaaS solutions, cloud and AI technologies, and relevant industry standards experience and vendor managementFinancial Management & Budgeting: Proven ability to manage multi-million-dollar budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effectivenessChange Management Expertise: Experience managing organizational change, ensuring smooth transitions, minimizing disruption, and driving adoption of new technologies and processesRelevant Qualifications & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in IT/ Business; PMP certification and experience with Agile project deliveryPersonal & Application Information
