Programme Manager - Locomotive Overhaul

Who will you be working with?

We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join our team at the LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) based in Burton on Trent we support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.

Salary: £Competitive

Location: Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, (DE13 8EN) – (Onsite)

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30pm and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm, 37 hours per week 

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

How will you make a difference?

The goal of this role is to expertly manage and execute the repair and overhaul program for major freight locomotive components, with a focus on diesel engines, ensuring top-notch service for Wabtec Freight’s predominantly UK-based customers.

What will your typical day look like?

Serve as the primary contact for the overhauling organisation, addressing technical queries and coordinating with others to provide solutions.Create comprehensive BoMs for both repair and overhaul processes.Ensure timely placement and re-placement of internal material orders to meet upcoming repair and overhaul demands.Regularly monitor and communicate order statuses, addressing lead time issues promptly.Maintain optimal stock levels at the overhauling organisation to prevent production delays.Ensure all technical documentation is accurate and relevant to the tasks required.Work with engineering, management, and quality teams to enhance technical documentation as needed.Engage with customers to understand their desired overhaul schedules.Coordinate with the overhauling entity to align workloads with customer expectations.Participate in initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.Provide regular updates and reports on programme status.

Engineering-related HNC/ONC or higher or equivalentProcurement, supply chain management, project management qualifications and/or experienceStrong customer focusSelf-motivation – the ability to work autonomously.Knowledge of supply chain procedures and material management
