At HMP Elmley we deliver the Recovery Service, supporting people to improve their health and wellbeing, changing their approach to drug and alcohol use, and working towards achieving their Recovery goals.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Worker to join us in HMP Elmley. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering our Foundations of Rehabilitation group work programme which is a platform for the delivery of desistance-oriented interventions and support. We have based this programme model on hope, resilience, and compassion.
With the support of your line manager and colleagues, you will be supporting the implementation, and delivery of the programme. You will also work closely with other parts of Healthcare and with the wider prison establishment.

Full Time Salary Range: £27,449.52 - £31,529.41 (pro rata for part time hours)
Responsibilities About the role:Promote the programme with service users and generate good levels of participationImplement and manage systems for the exchange of sensitive information, data and intelligenceProvide promotion, training and coaching to partnership agencies to enable effective joint workingPrepare and deliver Group Interventions including Foundations of RehabilitationDevelop productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholdersSupport individuals to address their offending and anti-social behaviour and develop positive alternatives
About you:
Experience of working in health and social care, ideally within a criminal justice settingHave a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and RecoveryBe an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skillsAbility to deliver group and training interventions to Service UsersProactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skillsHave a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practiceBe a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholdersAbility to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service usersUnderstand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
