About the Position:
We are seeking motivated candidates for the position of Programmer Analyst in the Office of Information Services. A s a Programmer Analyst, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining user interfaces for business applications using Oracle Forms technology, which involves creating interactive forms, data entry screens and reports by leveraging Oracle PL/SQL coding and database integration to ensure efficient data management with the Oracle database environment. You will also work closely with business analysts to translate requirements into functional applications. Additionally, this position will assist with modernizing BMV applications.

In this role, you will:
+ Write application programs of moderate complexity employing higher level languages such as PL/SQL, Java, SQL, C#, Perl, and Python.
+ Contribute to improving processes, implementing and supporting new technologies to support the department’s evolving needs.
+ Test and debug computer programs to ensure application operates correctly and meets user requirements.
+ Review and evaluate user reported issues and operations to produce feasibility or scope and objectives reports, functional requirements, and design specifications.
+ Attends and participates in vendor, agency, and computer-based training programs to develop technical skills and expand knowledge of automation technology products and capabilities.
+ Implements programs and trains users to ensure users are aware of applications’ critical aspects, capabilities, and proper use.
+ Leads or participates in walk-throughs of system and program designs, coding, and testing in order to minimize occurrence of program problems.
Preferences will be given to candidates who have:
+ A proven ability to work in a collaborative, team-focused environment.
+ A proven ability to think creatively and efficiently to solve complex problems.
+ The ability to identify errors in code, including their own, and provide input and solutions in a collaborative and educational manner.
+ Experience developing and maintaining Oracle Forms applications and developing with Java.

Minimum Qualifications: (Entry level knowledges, skills, and/or abilities may be acquired through, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO the following coursework/training and/or experience).
+ A Bachelors Degree in Computer Sciences or an equivalent industry certification
+ -OR- an Associates Degree in Computer Information Science with 1 year application development experience
+ -OR- 2 years application development experience
