The Office of Information Technology at the State of Maine is looking for an experienced Programmer Analyst who’ll be part of a team supporting the delivery of technology services to State Government.
Overview:
The Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology (MaineIT) provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees. MaineIT oversees large scale enterprise applications that support the critical and diverse business needs of the State of Maine and its agencies
About the Job:
As a Programmer Analyst, you’ll work with a team of developers with various degrees of experience, supporting the development and maintenance of computer programs and data warehouses. You’ll interact with Enterprise Data Services customers daily as you complete various tasks. Assignments can vary between multiple applications and projects. Examples of various tasks for this position may include:
+ Evaluation existing code and migrate current functionality into new technology
+ Test and debug programs to ensure proper functionality
+ Educate users on the use of programs and program features
+ Create documentation in support of enhancements and reported issues

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ A Bachelors Degree in Computer Sciences or an equivalent industry certification -OR-
+ an Associates Degree in Computer Information Science with 1 year application development experience -OR-
+ 2 years application development experience.
Special preference will be given to individuals who have experience in the following:Development using Oracle SQL, Oracle Apex, and SQL Developer.
Desirable soft skills include:
+ Understanding of customer relationship best practices.
+ Demonstrated desire to exercise accountability in a professional manner.
+ Demonstrated ability to respond in a timely and effective manner.
+ Understanding of empathy and how to exercise it with a variety of personalities.
+ Understanding of emotional intelligence principles.
+ Ability to listen and understand first before responding.
