Programmer Senior

You will join a team of experienced and passionate individuals supporting the Provider and Prior Authorization (PA) sub-systems within the North Carolina Medicaid Management Information system (NCMMIS). This is a critical program to support the citizens of North Carolina.

HOW A PROGRAMMER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Builds and codes applications and/or models using COBOL Applications in an IBM mainframe environment or equivalent
● Identify root cause for production defects by understanding and reviewing COBOL program source code and implement the fix
● Independently develop technical design documents, unit test plans, and code and unit test Z/OS mainframe COBOL programs
● Work with Engineering Workflow Management (EWM) or an equivalent eclipse based source code configuration management tool
● Agile development methodology experience preferred
● Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
● Required Experience: 8+ years’ experience in developing COBOL Applications in an IBM mainframe environment or equivalent
● Required Technical Skills:
● Security Clearance Level: N/A
● Required Skills and Abilities:
● Experience with batch programming, and JCL, PROC, CNTL cards, and EazyTrieve is a must.
● Excellent COBOL, DB2 and JCL knowledge and skills are required.
● Experience in Agile Software development.
● Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

● Strong verbal and written communication skills

● Must be able to fit within a team
● Location: Remote - Hybrid - Raleigh, NC

● Prior experience with Provider or PA systems in a health care domain would be a plus.

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
