Description:

The Project Accountant oversees the accounting operations on the assigned construction project site. This includes serving as the jobsite office manager, monitoring project budget and expenditures and tracking all accounts payables and receivables. This position reports to the Senior Project Controller, Project Manager or other assigned supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees the set-up standard file structure in coordination with Operations

Notifies Senior Project Controller of exceptions or violations of policies and procedures

Set-up and maintains the Project Budget/Cost Reports with the Project Manager

Oversees the development of subcontractor documents

Maintains positive owner relations and meets all contractual and accounting requirements

Supervises and trains all Payroll, A/P, Contract Administrators, OCIP Administrators and Administrative Assistants

Administers all job cost reporting

Participates in the development of subcontractor documents

Set-up, maintains, and reconciles Petty Cash account(s)

Ensures accuracy of the Equipment Log

Reviews and submits bi-monthly Cash Flow reports

Assembles and prepares monthly Owner Billings as required by Owner Contract

Processes Owner payments and maintains Owner Payment Log

Maintains the Monthly Adjustment Log

Directs the reconciliation of CGC to Prolog on a monthly basis

Assists Project Managers in preparation of monthly CR-1 Reports

Oversees office set-up expenditures

Functions as Jobsite Office Manager, as needed

Adheres to and supports all Safety requirements

Demonstrates basic knowledge of construction job cost accounting

Demonstrates knowledge of basic construction equipment knowledge

Performs tasks with commitment to excellence and a high level of motivation to learn new tasks and assume additional job responsibilities

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

Able to work, receive direction, and then work independently

Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate.

Computer Equipment and Software:

Special skills: Intermediate knowledge of Windows applications.

Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Software – particularly in Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.

Advanced knowledge of Construction Job Cost Accounting. Intermediate knowledge of CGC.

Intermediate knowledge of Monarch. Advanced knowledge of Prolog.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area preferred. A combination of education and work experience may also be considered in lieu of degree.  Certification: Not applicable.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. 

Experience: 8+ years of experience in a similar Accounting position preferred.
