Description:

The Project Accountant oversees the accounting operations on the assigned construction project site. This includes serving as the jobsite office manager, monitoring project budget and expenditures and tracking all accounts payables and receivables. This position reports to the Senior Project Controller, Project Manager or other assigned supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees the set-up standard file structure in coordination with OperationsNotifies Senior Project Controller of exceptions or violations of policies and proceduresSet-up and maintains the Project Budget/Cost Reports with the Project ManagerOversees the development of subcontractor documentsMaintains positive owner relations and meets all contractual and accounting requirementsSupervises and trains all Payroll, A/P, Contract Administrators, OCIP Administrators and Administrative AssistantsAdministers all job cost reportingParticipates in the development of subcontractor documentsSet-up, maintains, and reconciles Petty Cash account(s)Ensures accuracy of the Equipment LogReviews and submits bi-monthly Cash Flow reportsAssembles and prepares monthly Owner Billings as required by Owner ContractProcesses Owner payments and maintains Owner Payment LogMaintains the Monthly Adjustment LogDirects the reconciliation of CGC to Prolog on a monthly basisAssists Project Managers in preparation of monthly CR-1 ReportsOversees office set-up expendituresFunctions as Jobsite Office Manager, as neededAdheres to and supports all Safety requirementsDemonstrates basic knowledge of construction job cost accountingDemonstrates knowledge of basic construction equipment knowledgePerforms tasks with commitment to excellence and a high level of motivation to learn new tasks and assume additional job responsibilitiesRelies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the jobAble to work, receive direction, and then work independentlyPerforms all other duties as assigned by supervisorEnsure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related area preferred. A combination of education and work experience may also be considered in lieu of degree.  Certification: Not applicable.Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience: 8+ years of experience in a similar Accounting position preferred.Possess excellent listening, oral and written communication skills, superior problem-solving skillsPerforms work tasks by receiving direction and then working independently with an interest in quickly learning and applying new skills and abilitiesAble to provide thorough analysis and proper planning to achieve goalsMust be dependable, consistent, diligent, and thoroughMust demonstrate attention to detail and analytical skillsDemonstrates excellent presentation and time management skillsSpecial skills: Intermediate knowledge of Windows applications.Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Software – particularly in Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.Advanced knowledge of Construction Job Cost Accounting. Intermediate knowledge of CGC.Intermediate knowledge of Monarch. Advanced knowledge of Prolog.
