Project Accountant
Description:

The Project Accountant/Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in overseeing the financial aspects of the company's projects. This position involves budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to ensure projects remain profitable and comply with accounting standards.

Responsibilities:Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.Track project costs and expenditures to ensure they stay within budget.Handle accounts payable and receivable for projects.Reconcile project accounts and prepare monthly financial statements.Support month-end and year-end financial closing processes.Create and analyze financial reports for project managers and stakeholders.Offer insights on project performance, including profitability and cash flow.Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and industry regulations.Assist with audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.Collaborate with project managers to understand financial needs and project timelines.Provide financial guidance and support to project teams.Identify and implement improvements in accounting practices.Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in project accounting.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or project-based environment.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.MBA, CMA or CPA or equivalent certification.Experience with job costing and project management accounting.Knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost accounting principles.Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience.Environment:

In office Monday to Friday, flexible start and finish times around 8 AM to 5 PM. The work involves collaborating closely with a small team, including two other project accountants and reporting to the CFO. The company is transitioning to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central for their ERP system.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00
