Description We are looking for a Project Accountant to join our team in the energy and natural resources industry. This role is based in San Diego, California. As a Project Accountant, you will be tasked with managing financial aspects of several construction and development projects, including monthly draws, invoice coding, contract tracking, and variance analysis. Responsibilities: • Accurately submitting and managing construction draws for various projects • Preparing comprehensive budget files and conducting variance analysis for each construction project • Responding promptly and professionally to inquiries from the accounting manager and project managers regarding all construction draws • Running month-end reports for construction and development projects • Maintaining contract logs for construction and development projects and proficiently inputting contracts in accounting software modules • Managing the posting of intercompany journal entries, tracking cash movements for book transfers, and facilitating wire requests • Providing support to corporate accountants with accruals and assistance during yearly audits • Working closely with the Development and Construction Managers, providing payment status, reports, and participating in team meetings with the ability to answer questions regarding the projects. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Accountant or in a similar role • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management • Demonstrated experience in conducting Bank Reconciliations • Solid understanding of General Ledger accounting practices • Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries accurately • Experience in completing Month End Close procedures • Proficiency in using NetSuite for financial management • Knowledge of Oracle financial software is a plus • Familiarity with QuickBooks accounting software • Experience with SAP, especially in project accounting modules Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
