Job DescriptionThe Project Accountant is responsible for maintaining the project cost accounting system by ensuring that all commitments, change orders, and progress billings are entered timely and accurately. This position will also be responsible for project reporting as required.
Responsibilities Manage projects from a financial aspect that are assigned by the capital finance managerReview and code project invoices ensuring proper approvals for payment processingConducts analysis of project encumbrances and expenditures including retainage and general ledger reconciliationsReconcile monthly capital project activity to general ledger.Manage cash activities and bank reconciliationsTrack in coordination with project managers, all commitments, purchases, and outstanding project expensesMaintain vendor and internal customer relationConduct project budget forecastingPerform ad-hoc analysis and problem resolution Qualifications A four-year degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience; and at least 2-4 years of related experienceUnderstands accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, general ledger, Accrual, etc.)Possess working knowledge of ERP systems, Oracle preferredMust be deadline oriented, self-starter and able to work in a thriving fast-paced environmentStrong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to plan and manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyEffective written and verbal communication skills, strong problem-solving skillsetProficient with MS Excel and MS Office Ability to work independently, with some oversight, and in team environment Must have good work ethic and integrity, dependable, adaptable, cooperative, and motivated to take on new responsibilitiesProfessional demeanor with a positive, solution-seeking attitudeAbility to think critically & analytically and make sound decisions to effectively drive important project issues to effective resolution Change is your friend – you embrace it and adapt easilyOmni Hotels & Resorts is an equal opportunity employer - vets/disability.
