Freese and Nichols is seeking a Project Accountant to perform accounting and administrative functions so as to maintain the financial integrity of assigned operating groups within the objectives and guidelines established.
Assist Group Managers during budgeting processProvide financial data to analysis and to help establish goals and monitor performance Review monthly project reports, analysis information provided by PM to assess project status and identify issuesMake calculations and revisions to achieve accurate revenue recognitionInform Group Managers of results and/or corrective actions neededWork with Project Managers to set up new projects in compliance with contractual terms and to achieve accurate revenue recognition and billingsReview new contracts for compensation terms and compliance with company policy and client requirementsSupervise preparation of monthly billings in compliance with contracts, billing schedules and company policyMonitor accounts receivable and WIP and take corrective action as appropriate to maintain accurate current status. Work with clients to resolve billing issuesProvide groups with accounting support and training on project accounting and toolsProvide financial data for cost proposals and contractsInput and monitor booking dataMaintain adequate project financial records for audits by outside auditors, governmental agencies and clients of the company. Work with auditors as required during auditsQualifications5+ years related accounting experience in a decision-making capacityProven ability and working knowledge of general business practicesProven ability to communicate in both a written and oral manner with clients and to all levels of staffGeneral knowledge of professional marketing skills, including preparation of written documents; working knowledge of personal computer equipment, software and word processing; general knowledge of practical and economical office proceduresHigh School Diploma or EquivalentPreferred
