Your Role
The Senior Project Accountant is a highly capable professional that possesses extensive project accounting experience and will provide our Southwest Region project accountant team with solid accounting support. As a Senior Project Accountant, you will report to the Co-Regional Finance Directors. In addition to performing project accounting on selected projects of scale and high complexity, the Senior Project Accountant provides general supervision of project accountants in the performance of core project accounting responsibilities.
What You Will Do
Review contracts and provide guidance on billing terms at project initiation;
Attend project review meeting with DMs and project accountants, as needed, to address project financial performance;
With DM leadership, conduct DM onboarding sessions in the Region and provide on-going project accounting training;
Work with Design Managers to resolve challenging project performance questions related to profitability and best practices, etc.;
Review and advise on A/R comments and assist with developing plans to address delinquent collections;
In collaboration with the Regional Accounting Manager, review and assign project workload to project accountants;
Perform periodic financial QA/QC on projects with JTD held cost and/or those identified as at-risk of financial loss;
In collaboration with the Regional Accounting Manager, review and approve project accountants’ request for PTO and coordinates workload coverage when PTO is taken;
In collaboration with the Co-Regional Finance Directors and Regional Accounting Manager, interview candidates for project accountant roles;
In collaboration with the Regional Accounting Manager, conduct annual PDP discussions with project accountants;
Work with the Co-Regional Finance Directors and Regional Accounting Manager to ensure compliance with FW policies related to the project accounting function;
Perform other ad hoc financial analysis and presentations, as requested by Leadership.
Your Qualifications
15+ years of experience in accounting/finance (A/E or PSF industry experience required)
General knowledge of software systems, including Deltek Vision/Advantage/CostPoint and Excel (strongly preferred)
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage different personality types
Works well in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines
Good written and verbal communication skills
Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and consistent work performance
