Project Analyst
Position Summary: The Project Analyst works closely with Finance and Operations to enhance project analysis and reporting capabilities. Actively participates in the financial closing and consolidation process. Duties include process improvement analysis, job cost functions and analysis, revenue/margin analysis, and KPI analysis. The position offers visibility and interaction with management, including Directors in Finance and Operations. The position will require a willingness to learn, the ability to thrive in a team environment, a propensity to meet strict deadlines, a solid work ethic, and the ability to communicate effectively with various levels of the organization. Essential Functions: + Project Accounting including, but not limited to: + Revenue recognition processing and analysis + Budget versus Actual reporting and analysis + Produce standard Oracle reporting for distribution to Operations + Generate ad hoc reporting for Finance and Operations + Participating in the financial close process: + Assisting in the development and assessment of revenue estimates + Identifying risk to revenue and WIP and preparing appropriate reserves + Preparing standard reporting for distribution to operations + Preparing, reviewing, and processing cost and revenue accruals + Reviewing and processing fixed price contract budget updates + Contract rate testing and contract file organization + Reporting validation + Ongoing validation of current reports + Validation of newly developed reports + Assist with management of Operations report requests and minimizing backlog + Data requests + Develop, interpret, and validate operations/project data + Assist in creation and maintenance of key operations reports and metrics + Operational support + Support business processes as it relates to Oracle + Liaison between operations and finance by way of reporting/data mining support + Assist operations and finance with month-end support + Other duties and tasks as assigned Other Requirements: + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field + 3- 5 years of relevant experience + High degree of accuracy and attention to detail + Strong interpersonal skills; customer service orientation + Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office + Experience with MS Excel advanced functions (Pivot, SUMIF, lookups) Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
