DESCRIPTION

As an integral component of our multi-disciplinary Architecture/Engineering Practice, Michael Baker International is looking for a Project Architect who is enthusiastic and motivated to be part of ongoing and future Federal Projects.  Responsibilities will include design and documentation for ongoing Federal and Department of Defense projects, along with market-driven diversification including Healthcare, Commercial, Aviation, and Transit opportunities. The Project Architect will work in multi-disciplinary, collaborative design teams with architects, interior designers, site/civil engineers, and building systems engineers. The successful candidate will demonstrate creative problem-solving, organizational skills, strong production management capabilities, and a strong understanding of construction documents and constructability.

The Project Architect will be tasked with being part of a team working primarily on Federal projects, but also on non-Federal.  The Project Architect will be tasked with leading small teams and interacting directly with clients for select projects.  Engages in activities associated with planning, design, and construction documents including code analysis documents, studies, reports, sketches, schematic drawings, renderings, specifications, final contract documents, and as-built drawings Consults with Project Managers to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure, site or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs, and construction time Plans layout of project and integrates architectural elements into unified design for client review and approval Prepares scale drawings and contract documents for building contractors Oversees the preparation of plans using computer assisted design software and equipment Performs Quality Control Reviews Maintains working knowledge of current industry software including Revit and BIM Other duties as assigned

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

NAAB Accredited degree in Architecture (Masters is a plus) Professional Registration as an Architect in any U.S. Jurisdiction is strongly preferred. 5+ years related experience to include some Federal/DOD projects Demonstrated proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) Autodesk Revit Architecture, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite Experience with Autodesk BIM 360 and VMware Horizon and similar platforms Experience with graphics/rendering software to communicate ideas quickly and effectively is preferred 

COMPENSATION

The approximate compensation range for this position is $$93,844 to $135,504. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
