Job Title: Project Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Project Architect with experience in architectural building systems, sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines. The ideal candidate should be proficient in using Revit to draft architectural drawings and have a solid understanding of building codes. You will be responsible for designing plans for commercial/industrial buildings, material handling clients, and multifamily projects. This role requires a candidate with 4+ years of architectural experience, ideally close to being registered.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare building models and detailed contract documents.Coordinate technical design of projects with other internal disciplines and outside consultants.Participate in the development of project specifications and their coordination with the drawings.Review completed reports, submittals, drawings, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.Attend site visits and meetings to expedite construction and help resolve issues encountered in the field.Regularly communicate with senior staff to ensure document requirements are met before project delivery.Utilize design software/technology for presentation and production purposes, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, BSD SpecLink, and other emerging technologies.Mentor and support the work of less experienced staff, including Architectural Student Interns and Graduate Architects.Engage with client representatives and leadership regarding your area of expertise.Embrace the iterative nature of the design process and execute work in a timely manner.Essential SkillsProficiency in Revit drafting.Ability to take direction and make changes in the software.Knowledge of architectural building systems.Knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.Understanding of building codes and ability to research and apply them.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Architecture or 4+ years of architectural drafting experience.Master's degree in Architecture is a plus.Work Environment

The work environment is progressive, with a modern building and open workspaces for collaboration. The firm is the largest A&E firm in Grand Rapids, with around 60 employees working in groups of 6-8 depending on the discipline. The office is business casual, with slacks and button-up attire. The firm offers opportunities to work on multiple projects in different stages, and there are clubs and organizations within the firm to be a part of. The Grand Rapids office has both A+E teams, while the Charlotte office is mainly focused on architecture.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
