The Institute for Sustainability Engagement (ISE) (formerly Center for Sustainable Community Solutions) at Syracuse University Center seeks a Project Assistant to assist with implementing grant-funded projects related to sustainable materials management (i.e., waste reduction, reuse, and recycling), natural resources management, environmental sustainability, climate change, and environmental finance. The Project Assistant will help to administer ISE’s NYS Sustainable Materials Management Stewardship Program by training college students on the fundamentals of waste reduction, reuse, and recycling and supporting them with the implementation of community projects. The Project Assistant will also assist with information gathering, the development of educational materials and resources, outreach and engagement, meeting coordination and event planning, and providing support to NY stakeholders and communities to help advance the adoption of sustainable materials management initiatives. This is a part-time, temporary position, subject to the availability of grant funds, with an anticipated workload of 30-40 hours per week. This position is based in Syracuse, NY. Periodic travel throughout NY will be required. The Project Assistant will report to ISE’s Program Associate, Morgan Ingraham.
