Project Control Lead

We are seeking an experienced Project Control Lead to oversee the planning, execution, and governance of this high-impact project. This role is critical in ensuring that the project stays within scope, budget, and timelines while proactively managing risks and resources. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external partners to drive efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities – not limited to the below:
1. Project Control & Governance Establish and manage a robust project control framework for the SAP S/4HANA implementation. Ensure adherence to SAP Activate or equivalent project management methodologies. Maintain governance structures to ensure compliance with project objectives and milestones. 2. Financial & Budget Management Oversee financial planning, cost forecasting, and budget control for the project. Monitor financial deviations and implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure transparency in financial reporting and spending allocations. 3. Risk & Issue Management Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks proactively. Establish an escalation mechanism for critical issues, ensuring timely resolution. Develop and enforce contingency plans to address potential project disruptions. 4. Change Management & Scope Control Manage and document scope changes, ensuring formal approval processes are followed. Assess the impact of change requests on project timelines, costs, and deliverables. Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption of changes. 5. Project Planning & Scheduling Develop, maintain, and optimize detailed project schedules in coordination with workstream leads. Track milestones, deliverables, and key dependencies to ensure timely execution. Anticipate and address potential delays, ensuring proactive course correction. 6. Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication Serve as a key liaison between functional, technical, and leadership teams. Conduct regular project review meetings to discuss progress, risks, and issues. Provide clear and structured project reporting to senior stakeholders. 7. Cost Tracking & Resource Allocation Monitor and track actual vs. forecasted costs, ensuring financial discipline. Optimize resource allocation across different project phases to enhance efficiency. Ensure effective utilization of internal and external resources, including vendor engagement. 8. Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure that project control processes meet quality, regulatory, and industry standards. Conduct regular quality checks throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all control-related processes and decisions. Job Dimensions Lead the project control aspects of a multi-million-dollar SAP greenfield implementation involving 1,600+ users across client. Manage timelines, budget, scope, and risks across multiple workstreams. Oversee collaboration with 4+ vendors and the implementation partner. Ensure a cohesive approach across functional and technical teams. Oversee project risks across technical, financial, and operational domains. Project duration: 12+ months.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience Required:
Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in business, IT, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent). Experience 8+ years in project control or project management roles. Experience in large-scale SAP implementations, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry. Strong understanding of SAP Activate methodology (preferred). Hands-on experience with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent). Key Skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong financial acumen, including budget tracking and cost forecasting. Deep expertise in risk management, issue resolution, and governance. Ability to manage multiple vendors and external implementation partners. Fluent in English (written & spoken).
