Under the direction of a project manager, the Project Control Specialist will interact productively with key members of a project team. Minimal travel may be required depending on the program team and client needs. Disclaimer: The candidate selected for this position may work remotely at a location other than a POWER-designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a POWER office for periodic meetings. **Roles & Responsibilities** · The Project Controls Specialist works closely with the client TPMO team, program managers, and engineers to develop Transmission project schedules. · Has an advanced understanding of complex projects and how they work. · Possesses a high-level understanding of scheduling and cost knowledge and can interact with key project team members with a variety of backgrounds. · Understand CPM scheduling, Earned Value Management, and Schedule Risk Analysis. · Experience with scheduling engineering and construction projects. · Identify and interpret work scope, technical sequencing, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS). · Develop, maintain, and support project schedule development for various Capital Improvement Projects (CIP). · Work with management to ensure the schedule represents the execution plan. · Ability to organize and sort through large data sets to create pivot tables, charts, graphs, etc. · Produce concise & coherent storylines based on the data being presented. · Pull data & prepare narratives for executive-level and external-facing presentations (Steering Committees, OCE decks, regulatory RFIs, etc.) · Effectively communicate with various project teams and internal work groups. · Report scheduling issues to the program manager and engineer and provide visibility to critical deliverables through phone calls, emails, and/or meetings. · May work with Planning/ROW to provide an overview to various stakeholders. · Manage changes and keep project teams aware of changes to the schedule. · Prepare cost performance and cash flow projections utilizing budget and cost-loaded schedules. · Update tasks and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as indicated on progress updates. · Attend meetings as required (internal and with client). · Ideal candidates should be self-starters and work independently. · Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or client. **Required Education/Experience** • BS/BA in Business, Engineering, or Construction Management and/or related field experience • Candidate must have 5+ years of professional Project Controls experience • Intermediate to Advanced in Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite • Advanced Excel Skills • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) • Ability to work in a matrix environment • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment **Desired Education/Experience** • Electrical utilities and power distribution experience is desirable • Desired candidate may have experience working on various-sized projects/programs • Knowledge of Smartsheet and Power BI is desirable • Certification from AACE or PMI is desirable At POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level.
