Opportunity Summary
The Project Controller position is responsible for accurate accounting in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as contract compliance for assigned Client Projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for all aspects of accounting and financial recordkeeping for assigned Client Projects, including:
Compiling and analyzing financial information including budget variances Preparing GAAP financial statements, monthly, quarterly and annually, including consolidated statements, where applicable. Possible IFRS financial statement presentation. Prepare audited financials for review by owners and independent accountants Meeting financial reporting deadlines Preparing monthly cash and GAAP forecasts Preparing balance sheet reconciliations Assist in the preparation of annual budgets Assist in the preparation of owner’s board packages for their presentation Support owners in refinancing, obtaining new debt or financing vehicles (letter of credit) Perform cash management duties including cash waterfalls, while overseeing accounts payable transactions including preparing accounts payable checks for processing Maintaining standardized workpapers for all balance sheet accounts and some income statement accounts, including but not limited to fixed asset records and depreciation Obtaining an understanding of derivative accounting, where applicable. Derivatives may include Interest Rate Swaps, Energy puts/calls, foreign currency transactions. Preparing journal entries Monitoring the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures Responsible for assigned Project Contract compliance Read and understand related contracts Ensure compliance and correlation to monthly financials Ensure compliance with all the respective debt documents if applicable, including loan covenant reviews and preparation of officer’s certificates Upload compliance deadlines and responsibilities into DocMinderResponsible to interact professionally with:
Owners, Investors, and Operators Outside CPAs in preparing the year-end Financial Statements, audits, tax preparation, and special accounting issues Banking institutions and other third party consultants. (lawyers, hedge experts, etc.) Company’s officers, Asset Managers, other managers and administrative staffWorking Relationships
The Project Controller will report to the Project Accounting Manager.
Compensation
The initial compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $100,000
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and at least 3 to 5 years experience in public accounting or related industry experience Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred Strong communication skills Time management, organizational abilities, and multi-tasking are essential to meet deadlines as project controllers are expected to handle 2-5 companies simultaneously Computer experience including knowledge of accounting software (experience with Great Plains a plus), Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point Strong decision making skills and detailed oriented Strong organization, recordkeeping and time management skills Self motivated and able to perform most tasks with little or no supervision and in team environments Experience in a professional business environmentNAES Safe

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
This is a full time position that requires 40 working hours per week. Additional time may be required during heavy workloads or to meet deadlines. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, as well as handle long periods of screen time. All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program.
