Airswift is looking for a Project Controls Manager to support a major client in North Slope, AK on a 14/14 rotational long-term contract.

Location: North Slope, Alaska (Rotational Schedule) – needs to be based on Houston area, Texas
Job Type: Contract (Rotational 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off)
A leading industrial construction company is seeking a Project Controls Manager to oversee cost control, scheduling, risk management, and project reporting for a large-scale project in North Slope, Alaska. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate cost tracking, schedule adherence, and proactive risk mitigation to support successful project execution.
This position requires strong leadership, analytical expertise, and the ability to work in remote environments while collaborating with construction teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and oversee detailed, resource-loaded project schedules to track progress, productivity, and deliverables. Perform critical path analysis, schedule risk assessments, and implement recovery plans when delays arise. Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and engineering to ensure accurate work sequencing and milestone tracking. Monitor schedule performance, identify variances, and provide solutions to maintain project timelines. Lead budget forecasting, financial reporting, and cost-control processes, ensuring alignment with project objectives. Track actual costs against budget estimates, conduct variance analysis, and provide trend reporting to project leadership. Identify potential cost overruns, scope changes, and schedule impacts, recommending corrective actions. Support contract and procurement teams in subcontractor cost management and performance tracking. Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks related to scheduling, costs, and execution. Manage change orders and contract modifications, ensuring all adjustments are properly documented and approved. Establish and implement best practices for project controls, ensuring efficiency and compliance with industry standards. Provide regular reports and analysis on project schedules, earned value metrics, and budget performance to key stakeholders. Work closely with construction teams to coordinate activities, resolve scheduling conflicts, and optimize resource allocation. Facilitate project meetings and risk discussions, ensuring that project objectives remain on track. Lead a multi-disciplinary project controls team, including schedulers, estimators, cost controllers, and document control specialists.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in project controls, scheduling, or project management within industrial construction Expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent scheduling tools. Proficiency in cost tracking systems, earned value management (EVM), and financial forecasting. Strong leadership skills with experience managing project controls teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with field teams and stakeholders. Prior experience working in remote, high-risk, or extreme climate environments is a plus.
Additional Requirements: Ability to work a rotational schedule (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off) in a remote location. Must meet all site safety and compliance requirements, including medical evaluations and background screenings. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, safety protocols, and best practices for remote projects.
