HDR has an opening for a Project Controls Specialist to provide support to our project teams in the delivery of Transportation Business Group projects in the New York/New Jersey Area. This role will partner with our Project Controls Manager and our Project Delivery Lead in monitoring and tracking scope, schedule, budget, and quality activities for projects.

Description:

In the role of Project Controls Specialist, we'll count on you to:

Establish WBS and develop and maintain complex project schedules for various phases of the projectDevelop and monitor project metrics, including budget, schedule and quality activitiesCoordinate with necessary team membersParticipate in project coordination meetingsConduct project site visits if applicableConduct schedule baseline and schedule update reviewsDevelop staffing cost estimatesManage and enforce adherence to project controls practices and procedures, including change management and records managementDevelop and monitor key performance indicators and report to project and program staffReview project change documentation and ensure compliance with change procedures and contract specificationsEstablish project schedules, forecast and cost controls proceduresWork with Project Manager, Accounting, Operational and Business Leadership for periodic project reviewsPerform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or similarA minimum of 5 years' experience in project controls work on engineering and construction projects, including planning, estimating, forecasting, scheduling, cost control, schedule control, and project reportsCertifications (one or more): PSP, PMP, PE, CM, EVP, PMI-SP, CSTAbility to interpret design and construction schedulesConstruction schedule fundamentals (including CPM), progressively complex scheduling techniques as well as scheduling software including Primavera.Functional computer usage including familiarity with Microsoft office suite software, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Construction Management Software. The capability to actively progress knowledge in the areas of:Oral and written communication skillsInterpersonal and leadership skillsCoordination and prioritization of multiple long and short-term tasksOrganizational, analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustPreference is given to local candidatesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
