Position Summary

The Supervisor of Project Controls will lead a team responsible for managing project controls for Electric Distribution, Transmission and Substation Projects for the Electric Operations Portfolio Delivery team. This leader will manage a diverse team of Project Controls Analysts in the cost, schedule and scope management in support of the larger EO Portfolio Delivery team and EO Projects and Construction organization, and ensure the team adheres and aligns to Project Management best practices and standards of work.

 

The leader must be forward thinking, able to collaborate and communicate effectively with numerous stakeholders across PG&E to drive progress and continue the development of waste elimination and process improvement initiatives. The Manager will be required to regularly present status updates, provide recommendations and reporting to directors and high-level leaders.

 

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

 

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job.  The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.  Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
 
A reasonable salary range is:

Bay Area Minimum: $140,000
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000

OR
California Minimum: $133,000
California Maximum: $226,000
 

Job Responsibilities

Keeps abreast of best practices in project management concepts, methods and techniques. Regularly assesses current processes and develops recommendations for continuous process improvement. Manages and forecasts accurate project portfolio costs that are aligned with annual and project budget targets. Manages the portfolio of assigned projects and ensures all projects are designed safely and constructed on time, on budget, on scope, and without adverse environmental or other regulatory impacts. May supervise union or non-union employees. Supervise 8-12 direct reports primarily including Project Controls Analysts. Proactively identifies and resolves project issues to ensure that projects stay on plan to meet overall cost, scope and schedule commitments. Ensures consistency across the organization. Regularly meets with each project controls analyst to review status of assigned projects with emphasis on the larger, more complex or higher impact projects. Supervises staff to accomplish results through recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition. Works directly with client/sponsor organizations to understand scopes of projects and make appropriate project controls analyst assignments. Establishes specific project controls analyst expectations, metrics, and tracking tools to measure performance. Works with technical Project Management teams in other departments or lines of business to effectively manage and improve the overall groups operations and processes.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training PMI-Project Management Institute PMP-Project Management Professional certification 6 years total relevant experience in:   technical project management, and/or  program management in the utility industry, and/or  business management in the utility industry

               OR

3 years supervisory experience of project management, engineering and/or construction of Transmission/Distribution projects.

 

Desired:

Masters Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience LSS-Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification LSS-Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification
