Overview Reporting to the Manager of Large Projects, this position will supervise a regional laydown yard. This position is critical in supervising the overall project planning (including organizing and coordinating activities and deliverables specific to the region), and site resolution of all large project work to achieve project completion on budget, on time, as per agreed scope and with proper risk and quality management standards. The ideal candidate will conduct on site visits and complete tasks under no direct supervision, provide updates and process improvements as needed for the effective planning and delivery of all phases of projects for the assigned regional laydown yard. The successful candidate will possess superior communication skills and be required to communicate clearly and effectively (both verbally and in writing), to both internal and client partners. Responsibilities Supervises all regional laydown yard activities. This includes, but is not limited to: Organizing and leading the daily backlog of work in the yard. Materials management and ensuring proper project account number allocations. Planning and executing all planned outages and associated communications across other areas in anticipation of downstream impacts. Resolves assigned tickets (Engineering change management). Reviews and Validates WOP from Engineering including: Quality as per Engineering standards. Endorsements and excavation permits. Work Plan with management visibility (2-to-3-month lead time); monitors and updates weekly and adjusts as needed to meet client deliverables. Reviews and validates accurate cost controls for assigned laydown yard. Prepares and distributes weekly reporting for all programs being executed from the assigned laydown (regional) yard. Notes all changes from week-to-week including financial impacts. Provides all accruals for subcontracts, forecasting changes orders, and updates increases as needed. Weekly written report to the Manager of Large Projects Workstream (Distribution, Transmission, or Substation) including updates and process improvements week-over-week. Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Large Projects. Qualifications Bachelor of Science, Engineering, Business, or technical institute Project management Professional (PMP or PgMP) training and experience would be considered an asset. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a large electrical utility environment with knowledge in design, construction, and commissioning of electric utility systems, equipment and components preferred. Experience working on Regulated Utilities and managing project interfaces with Regulatory Commission and Independent System Operators, International Aid Agency Interfaces on Large Utility Scale preferred. Ability to operate without direct supervision. Ability to work efficiently under multiple deadlines and changing priorities. Ability to manage time independently and to work effectively on a project team. Ability to identify and manage risk on projects. Knowledge in Project Controls, including scheduling, task development, WBS, Costs, Estimating, Risks and Repo. Bilingual (Spanish and English) is preferred. Must have a valid Driver's License. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
