Project Coordinator

The Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (Climate Act) has created the most aggressive climate change goals in the nation and requires an ambitious agenda that blends proven catalysts with innovative approaches while operating across a broader energy arena that is rapidly evolving. New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) is a driving force in realizing this agenda. NYSERDA works with stakeholders that span residents, business owners, developers, community leaders, local government officials, universities, utilities, investors, entrepreneurs, and more, to develop, invest, and foster conditions that: + Attract the private sector capital investment needed to expand New York’s clean energy economy. + Overcome barriers to using clean energy at a large-scale in New York. + Enable New York’s communities and residents to benefit equitably from energy efficiency and renewable energy. Job Overview The Policy, Analysis and Research (PAR) team at the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority is tasked with the responsibility of providing economic analysis and scientific research to best inform policymakers on energy and environmental issues. To help further the team’s goals, we are seeking a Project Coordinator with superior organizational, time management, communication, and customer service skills to assist with program solicitations, project contracting, and project close-out processes and to provide support with workflow in NYSERDA's contract management system. The role will report to the Assistant Director and is not expected to supervise other employees. Primary Responsibilities + Assist with program solicitations, project contracting and project close-out processes and provide support with workflow in NYSERDA's contract management system. + Provide support for NY fuels surveys: + Weekly outreach to NY fuels retail companies to support NYSERDA in collecting heating fuels prices as part of the federally mandated State Heating Oil and Propane Program (SHOPP). + Monthly outreach to NY fuels distribution companies to support collection of supply chain information for the NYSERDA Fuels Assessment and Supply Tracking (FAST) survey. + Support the development of the Patterns & Trends: NYS Energy Profile annual report. + Co-manage the Flexible Energy Technical Analysis umbrella contracting process. This is an open enrollment program that serves PAR and all NYSERDA. The program currently includes dozens of pre-approved contractors across numerous technical support categories that are available to help NYSERDA staff conduct analysis in a timely manner. + Provide general support to Project Managers who are overseeing solicitations and other competitive selection methods (scheduling scoring meetings, notes, etc.). + Assist Project Managers and Team Leads with ad-hoc requests for support. + Ability to demonstrate respect, equity and inclusive behavior and practices of a diverse workforce and community. Minimum Qualifications + Associate degree and 3 years relevant experience + Ability to multi-task and to be self-motivated. + Capability for data entry, and processing of contracts in NYSERDA's contract management system (PeopleSoft). + Math aptitude and careful attention to detail. + Strong written and oral communication skills. + Ability to support business process improvement efforts. + Strong computer skills and experience with spreadsheets and database management systems.
