Project Coordinator

University Mechanical is currently seeking an experienced Project Coordinator for our San Diego CA location. Backed by the strength and stability that comes with almost a century of customer care and ownership, UMEC adheres to the highest safety standards for its employees and clients. UMEC offers industry-leading building information modeling (BIM) capabilities, design/build services, sustainable solutions, commercial HVAC services, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations. This position is assigned to project sites in the San Diego County area.  The Project Coordinator position will execute all of the job site administrative functions.

Salary Range: $28.85 to $36 per hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties include the distribution of mail, shipping of packages, answering phone, and maintenance of the flow of documents, records, files, reports, and other information to and from a particular project site. This includes the proper controls of such information within the company and external to the company. These duties incorporate the adherence to standard University Mechanical forms and procedures, as well as the other duties that may be assigned.  At times, the specific daily tasks may vary by project type, project requirements, and experience that the Project Coordinator has.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficient in MS Office 365, Internet, MS Teams, Blue Beam, Key Styles, Viewpoint/Vista preferred.

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES

Must possess excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must have professional customer service skills with the clients and subcontractors. Must prioritize in a fast paced multi-task environment with organization skills. Must have demonstrated ability to perform basic business mathematical functions. Must work with minimal supervision. Must effectively manage time and details. Must interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have organizational skills in handling & archiving technical data. Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, plans, and programs.

A minimum of 2 to 3 years of administrative construction experience. Basic knowledge of Safety, Accounting, Purchasing & Subcontracts, Project Start-up & Close-out, Contracts, Submittals, Pre-Planning, Scheduling, Project Evaluation, Project Changes, and Operating Procedures.  Federal Project Labor Compliance Tracking system also known as (LCP Tracker).

 LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of employees, vendors, and suppliers.
