Job Summary:
Altus Group is currently seeking a candidate in the position of Project Coordinator based out of our Toronto office to join our Development Advisory business unit. Working with our Project Management team, the Project Coordinator will assist in the provision of project management services by organizing and controlling project activities under the direction of Project Managers.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination – Support the Project Manager (PM) and Project Director in delivering building development projects, ensuring alignment with client and company goals.
Client & Stakeholder Communication – Attend client meetings, track project progress, and effectively communicate updates to stakeholders.
Project Planning & Scheduling – Assist in drafting proposals, budgets, cash flows, and schedules while using control tools to monitor project plans and expenditures.
Meeting Management – Organize and chair site meetings, distribute minutes, and facilitate project team collaboration.
Document Control & Reporting – Maintain project organization charts, track work progress, draft weekly/monthly client reports, and review field inspection reports.
Contract Administration – Assist with procurement, issue contracts and purchase orders, and track consultant/contractor progress claims and change orders.
Regulatory Compliance – Ensure all required permits, insurance, and project closeout documents are in place and up to date.
Quality Assurance – Monitor project activities, obtain direction from the PM, and ensure compliance with quality control standards.
Process Improvement – Identify opportunities to enhance company processes and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
Warranty & Closeout – Provide follow-up support during the warranty period, ensuring client needs are met post-construction.
Key Qualifications:
Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Business, Architecture, Project Management, Construction, or a related field.
0-5 years of practical experience in commercial real estate or related fields.
Basic project management skills with an understanding of commercial and contractual issues.
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with executive-level internal and external clients.
Organizational and detail-oriented with the ability to manage varying business needs.
Proficiency in project management technology and tools.
Understanding or interest of the construction industry and real estate development lifecycle.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word.
