Farmingdale State College seeks a qualified Project Coordinator. The chosen candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):
+ Perform on-site observations of the progress and quality of work to determine if the work is being performed in a manner that is in conformance with the Contract Documents. Notify the consultant and Director of Capital Projects & Construction if work does not conform to the Contract Documents or requires additional inspection or testing.
+ Maintain a log book and/or Daily Project Report Document of activities at the site, including weather conditions, worker count, deliveries, nature and location of work being performed, verbal instructions and interpretations given to the contractor, and specific observations. Record any occurrence or work that might result in a claim for a change in the Contract. Maintain a list of visitors, their titles, time and purpose of their visit and submit daily or as directed. Submit Daily Reports weekly to the consultant and Director of Capital Projects & Construction.
+ Maintain records at the construction site in an orderly manner, including correspondence, Contract Documents, Field/Change Orders, Construction Change Directives, reports of site meetings, shop drawings, product data and similar submittals, supplementary drawings, schedules, requests for payment, testing and inspection records and names, addresses and telephone numbers of the contractors, subcontractors and principal material suppliers.
+ Document effort to complete work on time and materials basis that may be related to a change order or field order.
+ Monitor the contractor's construction schedules regularly and alert the consultant and Director of Capital Projects & Construction to conditions that vary from the schedule or work plan and document the variations.
+ Receive and review requests for information (RFI) from the contractor and when authorized by the consultant, provide interpretations of the Contract Documents. Assist the consultant in preparing written response to contractor RFI's.
+ Receive and review requests for changes by the contractor and submit recommendations to the consultant and Director of Capital Projects & Construction. Review the consultant's Supplemental Instructions, incorporating the consultant's modifications to the Contract Documents.
+ Arrange and observe tests required by the Contract Documents and the Statement of Special Inspections. Coordinate access for testing and inspections. Obtain records of testing and inspection and provide copies of records for the consultant's review.
+ Attend all meetings as directed by Director of Capital Projects & Construction and report to the consultant on the proceedings. Assist the consultant with preparation of meeting minutes as required.
+ Assist the consultant in reviewing shop drawings, product data, samples, and all other submittals. Notify the consultant if any portion of the work requiring shop drawings, product data, or samples is commenced before such submittals have been approved by the consultant.
+ Receive and log samples required at the site, notify the consultant when they are ready for examination, record the consultant's approval or other action, and maintain custody of approved samples.
+ Assist the contractor in completing weekly fire safety walkthroughs and maintain records of these reports.
+ Review the contractor's record copy of the drawings, Specifications, Addenda, Change Order and other modifications at intervals appropriate to the stage of construction and notify the consultant if any apparent failure by the contractor to maintain up-to-date records.
+ Assist in creation of work to complete lists. Review the list of items to be completed or corrected, update the list as work is completed and report to the consultant and Director of Capital Projects & Construction if it is in conformance with the Contract Documents.
+ Assist the consultant in conducting inspections to confirm that the work is complete, compliant, and ready for Partial Acceptance, Substantial Completion, and/or Final Completion.
+ Assist the consultant in receipt, review, and transmittal to the campus of warranties, operating instructions, manuals, and other documentation required of the Contractor at completion of the Work.
+ Provide project photos in .jpg format of significant progress on a monthly basis.
+ Assist in expediting all aspects of the project including RFI response, submittal review, schedule preparation and updating, campus coordination, and completion of extra work.
+ Review Applications for Payment and forward to the consultant and Director of Capital Projects & Construction with recommendations for disposition.
+ Review and provide comments on the Contract Documents prior to the bid.
+ Monitor progress of additional work requested by the consultant to be completed on a time and material basis. Alert the consultant and Director of Capital Projects & Construction as to major issues that arise.
+ Obtain copies of Contractor and/or Police reports and share with the Director of Capital Projects & Construction.
+ Coordinate with the campus and Fund any issues occurring during the guarantee period.
+ Foster a positive working relationship with all team members including the campus, consultants, construction manager, contractor commissioning agent, and Fund.

Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor's Degree in a related field or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ General understanding of all NYS Building Codes.
+ Ability to work independently and as a team member.
+ Proficient computer skills.
+ Self-motivated, outgoing, and results oriented.
+ New York State -Building Safety Inspector certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Experience working in a public higher education setting.
+ Knowledge of New York State procurement requirements and practices.
+ Knowledge of New York State sustainability programs and directives.
Additional Information:
This is a Temporary UUP position.
+ For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, February 14, 2025, and ending Friday, February 28, 2025, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
+ CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Saturday, March 15, 2025.
+ SALARY: $85,000/year. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.
