Position Summary
Provides project management and administrative oversight to the planning, implementation and tracking of clinical improvement projects to support the mission of the Anesthesiology Department and the Quality and Patient Safety Division.
Job Responsibilities Manages and executes ongoing and project-based patient safety, quality improvement and operations initiatives through all phases of the project life cycle. Manages and executes project initiation, needs assessment, requirements and specifications, design, implementation, and maintenance to approved budget, scope and schedule. Supports defining objectives, scope, and project criteria as well as participate in and contribute to strategic planning meetings. Develops and presents reports and presentations related to the projects being managed. Maintains data logs, financial reporting systems and/or other in-house databases as needed. Coordinates resources for project teams such as, statistical analysis consulting, IT support, as well as procurement activities related to equipment, etc. Supports patient safety and quality improvement curriculum efforts and scholarly activities such as preparation of abstracts, IRB applications, etc. Mentors and trains junior level staff. Participates in internal and external audits relating to regulatory compliance. Provides general administrative support, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, completing forms, agendas, and meeting minutes, reimbursement activities. May need to represent the department/project at stakeholder meetings and participate in project meetings locally and nationwide. As needed, assists in planning and organizing various event activities. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education Bachelor's Degree ExperienceApproximately 3-4 years of related project management experience.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and office software applications.
Ability to analyze business needs, recommend effective technology or process solutions, and provide counsel to senior leaders.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously. Proficient in advanced functionality of Microsoft Excel and Access, i.e. pivot tables, Vlookups, etc. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills Demonstrated ability to exercise standards of professionalism. Demonstrated ability to pay close attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to structure and process qualitative or quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions from it. Collaborative, detail-oriented and technically savvy, as well as a self-starter, who can work independently with limited oversight. Effectively manage multiple short- and long-term projects and overlapping priorities.
