JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary: Provides outreach and community-based liaison and referral services to local youth/families, and information/education, coordination, and consultation to community members and facilities that serve children and families. Builds rapport with agencies and families to provide appropriate safety needs and resources, youth group organizations, schools, etc. Disseminates educational and safety materials to inform of appropriate and available services.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. One year related work experience preferred. Knowledge of local community resources. Valid Florida Driver's License with a good driving record.
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Outstanding organizational skills with good time management practices. Effective communication skills, both written and verbally in a multitude of settings. Able to work independently with an “off-site” supervisor. Ability to work in partnerships and groups effectively and cooperatively. Ability to speak publicly with members of community organizations and schools. Demonstrates clinical skills in working with participants coming from vulnerable background populations. Experience in emergency screening and in providing linkage services to the consumers and their families in an outreach setting. Excellent customer service skills and marketing skills required. Ability to learn and utilize computer software.
Essential Functions/Job Duties:
- Work as a liaison in communities to increase positive awareness of Centerstone impact relief programs and assistance.
- Work with Team Lead to coordinate distribution of educational information and materials.
- Relate to community organization members, school staff, parents/caregivers, and students while demonstrating professionalism at all times.
- Provides program participants with short-term coordination and recommended referrals as appropriate.
- Consults and maintains a team approach with peers, Team Lead and supervisor by working cooperatively on behalf of the program, and the children served.
- Attends supervisory meetings, conferences, and other training sessions.
- Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with co-workers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Work Environment/Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in varying environments. The employee may be located in office, remote, or within the community. The noise level in the work environment varies by location. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, carry up to 10 pounds, and drive. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to be able to hear and communicate verbally.
Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel: This is a full time, 40-hour position. Work schedule is Monday – Friday, with hours and days varying by event, worksite location, and community resource schedules. Some weekend and evenings as necessary. Local travel and commute required.
