JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position has locations in Charlotte County

Position Summary: Provides outreach services including group counseling, individual counseling, case management, and crisis intervention services to community members. Services are facilitated in office and locally within the field, in schools and community organizations. Must be highly motivated, organized, self-directed, and have good time management. Requires strong communication and rapport building skills.


Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. One year related work experience preferred. Knowledge of local community resources. Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in mental health, community outreach, or academic settings.


Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of local community resources and the school system. Highly motivated, self-directed, excellent time management and excellent communication skills a must. Ability to learn and utilize computer systems.


Essential Functions/Job Duties:
- Reports to work as scheduled on a daily basis to facilitate the development of therapeutic relationships with clients and to facilitate consistent client services.
- Provide knowledge and increase awareness regarding trauma and catastrophic event impacts.
- Educate the community about treatment programs and services for individuals/families effected by catastrophic events.
- Educate the community about safety needs and available resources prior to and following natural disasters.
- Establish working relationships with other community providers to strengthen the program.
- Document and maintain records of contacts, sessions, and presentations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.


Work Environment/Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in varying environments. The employee may be located in office, remote, or within the community. Crisis/Outreach workers are involved with individuals and families, as well as other working professionals. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, carry up to 10 pounds, and drive. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The employee is required to be able to hear and communicate verbally.
Position Type, Expected Hours of Work and Travel: This is a full time, 40-hour position. Work schedule is Monday – Friday, with hours and days varying by event, worksite location, and community resource schedules. Some weekend and evenings as necessary. Local travel and commute required.

Hourly Pay Range:

$20.37 - $21.37

$15.75--$22.00
