Full Time Contract Title or Role: Project Cost Accountant. Location: Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, 100% on-site. Length of Contract: One (1) year. Company Description: Our client specializes in the manufacturing of animal medical drugs and is in need of a Cost Accountant to be part of a global visibility team that is working in a very ambitious corporate project to assure a successful product launch. Position Description: This position requires an individual to manage projects cost controls and allocations. Responsibilities: + Work with project teams to understand process, materials and volume assumptions. + Estimate cost based on defined scenario and impact of the cost of goods sold (CoGS) in P&L. + Work with the project team to ensure correct cost allocations to projects and prepare reclassification as needed. + Monitor actual versus budget/forecast and identify any changes to forecast needed. + Report proactively unfavorable spending trends, savings opportunities or other areas of concern. + Gather required information for the application to government Incentives program. + Work with project team and government partners to maintain records of data that will be required for incentives reimbursement requests. + Prepare reimbursement requests when appropriate. Qualifications: + Experience developing standard cost estimates. + Experience working with budget, actuals, variances explanations. + Experience working with SAP, MS Office applications. + Strong experience performing value stream mapping. + Excellent presentation and project management skills; Quality and detail oriented. + Proficiency in the use of personal computers, scanners and office related equipment. + Must be capable of independent work; a self-starter, highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. + Ability to communicate in English/Spanish (Written and Spoken) Education & Certifications: + BBA, majoring in accounting and 5 years working as a Cost Accountant in a manufacturing environment.
